The system identifies the characters from a vehicle’s license plate during the LPR process. The system stores digital images of license plates and uses character recognition coupled with cutting-edge AI and deep learning capabilities to identify and store plate characters. Next, the LPR camera sends the information to the rule’s engine for analysis. Once an authorization result is provided, the access control system will then do the following:
- Log visitor information for historical reference.
- Send a text message to notify the resident of visitor arrival.
- Open the access control gate after approval has been granted.
As a result, the gate processing time is significantly expedited. Also, this automated process lowers the number of accidental entries. This approach to access control can reduce the overall maintenance cost associated with access control as license plates do not require the same level of maintenance other access control technologies do.
